Module 1

In this module we are taking real-world objects and using it to formulate multiple images to get an idea of the object to further work with them in C4D. For this specific module, we will take a look at primitive and complex objects in different settings, lighting and model them in C4D to understand 3d models.

Material Workshop 1

Wood is a material mainly used by the craft and design program (furniture). They produce items that provide function and aesthetically pleasing furniture for clients/ retail. Wood is an organic material. This provides a very durable material that can be used for a long time and provide longevity for clients and consumers purchasing furniture Glass is a material heavily used by the craft and design program (glass).
Glass is very brittle but very malleable when crafting with it. It is very fragile light-weight piece
of material and can be used for drink consumption, holding items and being decorative items. Working with liquid glass they will often focus more on the stability before moving forward with the artistic choices. The glass pieces shown in this image show a base which keeps the vases/artwork in place, then moving upward we see the how the glass is thrown to create visually stunning pieces.
Ceramic material is a material mainly used by the Ceramics program at Sheridan. Ceramic is a material often used to make bowls, plates, and can be used as a decorative piece as well. It is a very grainy material that is often refined during the throwing and glazing phase to provide integrity to the structure.
Ceramic often relies on the base structure to keep it in place, as shown in this picture.

Material Workshop 2

This object is a ceramic block. It is a creamy beige tile that is very smooth on all sides in a shape of a square. It is a refined object but not pliable. This is commonly used for decoration, construction process and to create household items to consume food or holding items This object material is a piece of glass with indented text which says, 'this is not art'. It is a clear glass with a smooth texture on all sides except for the back which is slightly rough smooth texture. This is a refined object, as intensive labour was put into creating a smooth glass with text. It is not a pliable object as the object can easily shatter.
This object is used for construction (windows), dinnerware and artworks just like this object. This is a plastic polymer material shaped as a hand. It is a creamy beige colour representing the colour of a human hand. It is very smooth but due to the materials feels a bit sticky. It is a refined product. This is used for modeling and creating molds to create other objects. It is pliable object as the object can be moved, however the material is not.
